Over the past 30 years, David Yurman’s name has become synonymous with fine jewelry which is consistently on-trend. He began his career as a sculptor of fine art in New York City in the exciting 1960s, earning recognition in the Beatnik art scene as well as in the wider art world. It was during his sculpting years that he met the painter Sybil Kleinrock, who would later become wife, muse and partner in the nascent Yurman brand. The pair parlayed their respective artistic backgrounds into jewelry design and quickly began making their mark in the world of high-end jewelry. The David Yurman brand was founded in 1980 and within a year was receiving accolades. David Yurman was named “Pearl Designer of the Year” in 1981 by the Cultured Pearl Associations of America and Japan. Yurman is most famous for the iconic design of his cable bracelet — a style which was introduced in 1983 that remains one of the most well-known looks. David Yurman creates bold modern jewelry with an artistic aesthetic in sterling silver, white and yellow gold, and brightly colored gemstones for a minimalist look favored by luxury lovers, stylists and fashionistas alike.
