FAQs

Is there a Beladora store?

Beladora does not have a retail store. Online merchandising allows clients worldwide to have the luxury of visiting us on the web rather than in one specific location. Without brick and mortar overhead, we are able to pass along the best possible pricing to our clients. Our customer service representatives, buyers and sales staff are located at our headquarters in Beverly Hills and are available to assist you by telephone or email Monday through Friday from 9:30 am to 5:30 pm Pacific Time.

What is your guarantee?

Beladora guarantees the quality and authenticity of every item we sell.

If for any reason you are not pleased with your purchase, simply return it to us in its original condition, within 60 days.

In addition to our industry-leading 60 day guarantee, Beladora watch purchases come with a 1-year warranty covering watch movement and battery replacement.

What are the differences between antique, vintage and estate jewelry?

Antique jewelry is customarily defined as jewelry crafted more than 100 years ago. Vintage jewelry is usually identified with a particular era and includes the historic Georgian and Victorian, Art Nouveau and Edwardian design periods as well as the Art Deco, Retro, Mid-Century, Modern and Contemporary periods. The term “estate jewelry” simply refers to jewelry that has been owned previously and is from any era. The beauty of antique, vintage and estate jewelry is that unlike contemporary styles, it is not available in vast multiples or quantities. It possesses distinctive qualities of workmanship, individuality and rarity that are appreciated by collectors and stylish clients alike. It is also often less expensive than comparable new jewelry.

How is the price of estate jewelry determined?

Pricing estate jewelry is both an art and a science. It requires a high level of experience and expertise as there are no “manufacturers’ retail prices” to be guided by, and often no obvious comparables in the marketplace. Our certified gemologists each have more than 30 years of experience in the gem and jewelry trade. That extensive training and experience are what make it possible to identify and determine the true and fair value of a piece of jewelry. It’s a surprisingly technical yet subtle art, as objective and subjective factors must be taken into account. First, there is a calculation as to the intrinsic value of the material in every piece. For example, how many carats of diamonds are there? Are they genuine and if so, what is the quality of the stones? Are the diamonds GIA certified? Is the gold 14 karat, 18 karat or perhaps platinum? Once the material is defined, weighed and measured, we then look to see if a piece is signed, what era it dates from, what condition it is in, if it has interesting and documented provenance, and so on. In addition, we regularly monitor international auction prices and other online sites to be certain we have the most competitive prices anywhere. If you have any question as to the authenticity or value of any item of jewelry offered on Beladora, we welcome your inquiry in order to provide further information.

How do I know what I buy from Beladora is authentic?

Beladora guarantees the quality and authenticity of every item we sell. Our parent company, Kazanjian & Fogarty, has been in business for more than 20 years, and we are known worldwide for the exceptional expertise and experience of our buyers and gemologists. Our reputation in the jewelry industry is outstanding and we stand behind every item we sell with a full money-back guarantee, no exceptions. If you ever have any questions or concerns about the authenticity of any jewelry purchased from Beladora, we gladly accept your query and assure you of a prompt and satisfactory resolution or return.

Do you sell new jewelry on Beladora?

While we are specialists in antique, vintage and estate jewelry, occasionally we will purchase a selection of fine new jewelry from a retailer or manufacturer, which we offer for sale on Beladora. The detailed item descriptions of every piece always make it clear whether an item is new, vintage or antique, and in every case our price will be less than the manufacturer’s or retail price.

Why does some jewelry disappear from the website and then reappear?

Frequently Beladora is asked to loan jewelry to stars attending red carpet events, for television appearances, for magazine photo shoots and more. The jewelry is taken off the website for these events and reinstated when returned. Occasionally, clients return an item they have purchased, as permitted by company policy. In such cases, the piece will reappear on the website for someone else to enjoy.

Are the jewels on the Beladora website depicted absolutely accurately?

The nature of photography and the Internet is such that images are not always absolutely correct for color or scale. Computer monitors vary greatly and individual settings can also cause variations. Jewelry may appear smaller or larger than actual size. Colors may appear lighter or darker online than in person. While we can guarantee the accuracy of our written descriptions, including measurements and certifications, we urge you to contact us to discuss any questions regarding accuracy of color or size, and/or the fit and comfort of a particular piece. We are happy to provide additional pictures and to discuss any detailed questions you may have. Many of our clients find it helpful to see a picture of an actual piece on one of our staff members. We are happy to model!

How do I find jewelry that fits into my budget?

If you have a specific budget, you can “Filter by Price” to view jewelry that is within your price range.

What is your policy on conflict diamonds?

In December 2000, the United Nations General Assembly adopted a landmark resolution supporting the creation of an international certification scheme for rough diamonds to ensure that diamond sales were not being used to finance violence by rebel movements. The resolution resulted in the creation of the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, which sets out specific requirements for controlling rough diamond production and trade. The scheme imposes extensive rules and regulations on the importers of rough diamonds to certify that shipments come from legitimate sources and are “conflict-free”. Beladora operates in full compliance with these regulations by buying new stones exclusively from legitimate diamond dealers who themselves are in compliance with the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme. Antique and vintage jewels containing diamonds fabricated from material mined prior to January 1, 2003, will, to the very best of our ability, never be sold if we have any doubt whatsoever as to the inclusion of conflict diamonds in the design and manufacture.

Do you offer a payment installment plan?

In most cases, payment in full is required at the time of purchase. If you would like to pay for your purchase over time, please contact us to discuss how we can help.
