Antique Victorian Diamond and Limoges Enamel Portrait Brooch

Item PIN-505138

A stunning example of antique enamel work, this Victorian era diamond portrait brooch with a fold down pendant bail is a truly exquisite artifact. A young woman — luxuriously outfitted in the vestments of the early 16th century including slashed sleeves, an elaborate bejeweled headdress, collar necklace and emerald and pearl brooch — is set against a backdrop of diagonal stripes. The stripes consist of rose-cut diamonds and deep blue enamel adorned with white fleurs de lis. A border of rose-cut diamonds culminates in a feminine bow with pearl terminals. This antique enamel portrait brooch is in the style of Golay Fils.
