Cartier is no stranger to the masses clamoring for one of their iconic pieces. Be that a bracelet or watch, once a design or emblem has entered the fashion and luxury conscious mind, it remains a coveted item for decades.
Enter Panthère de Cartier, the watch collection that originally debuted in 1983 and was produced through, then discontinued in the early aughts. Cartier has re-launched the watch in two sizes and 9 metals and/or finishes and last week, marked the occasion with a massive party in Los Angeles.

Held at Milk Studios in Hollywood, Cartier pulled out all of the stops, decking out the rambling space in all black with towering gold palm trees and of course, gilded Cartier signage around every corner.
Alicia Keys entertained the crowd (which was filled with luminaries from the global fashion, film and entertainment industries), with all of her most memorable songs. And Chef Thomas Keller of Bouchon, Per Se and French Laundry fame, catered the food, which was served well into the night.
Celebrities including Sienna Miller, Dakota Johnson and Sofia Coppola danced and celebrated among the crowd.
The attention the event attracted will no doubt cause the ripple effect Cartier is used to seeing with their big launches. Time will tell what kind of demand will come with the Panthère which provides plenty of options for any style as it’s available in yellow gold, rose gold and white gold as well as diamond covered, diamond and black enamel animal spots and even rose gold with black lacquered links.
