Antique Victorian Dionysus Cameo Pendant in 14K
Vivid and versatile, this lovely and impressive piece of true Victoriana features a vibrant neoclassical motif. The antique Victorian cameo features the proud head of the Greek deity Dionysus, the joyful god of merrymaking and indulgence. The handsome profile is crowned with a convivial wreath of grape leaves with grape clusters hanging as well. The cameo is set into a marvelously detailed diamond of gold upon which a delectable pattern has been picked out in black and white enamel. This cameo can be worn as a pendant or a brooch and has a hoop at the bottom wherein a drop or smaller pendant can be hung for a truly Victorian style. This estate antique Victorian cameo measures approximately 2 1/2 inches in length by 1 3/4 inches in width.
